WHEN DOES MAKEUP EXPIRE?

This is a quick tip, on the back of most products there will be a 6, 12, or 24 in the middle of a container shape. This is basically when you're product expires from the time you open it. I NEVER knew this--but I was wondering why people said Nars Sheer Glow expires in 2 yrs..
